Fast and economical heating of rooms with a large surface area requires the use of correctly selected devices. First of all, you need to determine the building’s demand for heat. For halls, immediate heat distribution within the entire room is unlikely, but it should start from the most important points, such as work stations. It is important, however, to quickly warm up the entire room. Therefore, it is worth paying attention not only to the heating power of the heater used, but also the range and efficiency of air blow.
Correct Selection of Thermal Power
The first and most important parameter of each heating device is its thermal power. It is worth suggesting not only maximum power output but full range of product operation. Due to this, each user will be able to take full advantage of the heater capabilities. The maximum should be left to extreme conditions, i.e. the need to raise the temperature very quickly in a chilled room. On the other hand, everyday operation should usually take place at reduced operating parameters, which minimises the noise level, and the differential temperature does not cause any discomfort. Maximum Air Blow Range
The air blow range is another basic parameter, given in the water heater specification, and which is useful when designing heating in rooms with a large surface area. Usually, it is represented by two values – horizontal and vertical range. The first one is important when mounting the unit on the wall, and the second – when the heater is to be installed on the ceiling. This value shows how far away from the device the warm air will reach. The minimum air velocity, specifying the maximum air blow range, has been set to 0.5 m/sec. Knowing this, you can correctly arrange the location of the equipment in the room. As a result, it will be possible to heat up all the space used very quickly, avoiding the discomfort caused by too fast airflow.
Detailed Fan Parameters
In addition to the power and range data, the fan parameters can often be found. Its efficiency (air delivery) will usually be the first of them. It informs about the volume of air (usually expressed in cubic meters) that the device is able to deliver in one hour. The value itself is of no importance for the user, but you should know that it translates into airflow velocity, range and most importantly – thermal power. In order to determine electricity consumption by the product, it is worth paying attention to the electrical power of the motor. Heating System Parameters
Moreover, the general device specification also includes information on the maximum water temperature, at which the heater can operate. This value is very important and should not be exceeded. On the one hand, the technical conditions of the product affect it. Too high temperature of the heating fluid may lead to failure of some components of the heater and cause its incorrect operation. Any damage to the operating heating device can result in danger for the room occupants. Moreover, too hot air coming out of the heater can cause discomfort. When designing the installation, it is also worth paying attention to the water capacity of the heating device. Knowledge of the amount of water in the system allows, among others, for proper selection of its safety components.
When deciding on the heater, check its dimensions. Modern models using multi-row heat exchangers and fans with EC motors have compact dimensions. This is important when planning the room space.
